Archbishop Leo Cushley marked St Andrew’s Day 2018 with not one but two visits to St Andrew’s High School in Kirkcaldy.

“It was a pleasure to welcome once again His Grace, Archbishop Cushley, to our school, not only for Solemn Evening Prayer with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament on Thursday 29 November,” said Pat Callaghan, Rector of St Andrew’s High, “but also, as is tradition, for our Feast Day celebrations on Friday 30 November.”

“The whole school Mass was a tremendous experience and His Grace's sermon touched the hearts of his audience with his words. He then met our S6 Caritas group and was able to enjoy a coffee with staff too. "

The Evening Prayer and Benediction on 29 November saw the Icon of Jesus Our Teacher, created to mark the centenary of Scotland’s Catholic schools being incorporated into the state system, visit the Fife school. Gathered within the school oratory were teachers from across Fife’s Catholic schools plus local clergy. This afternoon will see the icon visit St Augustine’s High School in Edinburgh for a gathering of teachers from the capital city’s Catholic schools.
