Archbishop Leo Cushley has set off on a new tour of primary schools within the Archdiocese of St Andrews & Edinburgh.

“Last year I visited roughly half of the 69 primaries within our Archdiocese, so now I want to visit the remaining schools that I haven’t yet been to,” said the Archbishop, 5 February.

“It’s a great chance for me to meet with all the children, in their classrooms, with their teachers, just to see how they are getting on, say a wee prayer with them, give them my blessing, extend that to their mums and dads and take a few questions. It’s good fun too.”

The Archbishop started his tour with a visit to three primaries in the capital: St Andrew’s Fox Covert in Corstorphine, St Cuthbert’s in Slatefored and St Mark’s in Oxgangs. Next week he’ll visit three primaries in West Lothian. He hopes to conclude his tour over the next few months.
