Sung Evening Prayer for the feast of Candlemas at 6pm on the 1st of February 2023 (the Presentation of the Child Jesus in the Temple and the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary) with Archbishop Leo Cushley.
The event is to celebrate the anniversary of the founding of the Oratory of St Philip Neri in the English-Speaking world in 1848 by St John Henry Newman.
The “Edinburgh Oratory Project” works towards a way of life for secular priests to live in common according to the inspiration of St Philip Neri, founder of the Oratorians, by fulfilling Newman’s dream for the city.
