The title of the event is A New Vocabulary - Understanding our contemporary landscape and the call to be missionary focused.
David Wells has written two books, co-authored two more, produced two video series and spoken at more than 2,000 conferences worldwide.
He said: "Our contemporary Catholic language uses a terminology that might be alien to our grandparents. We speak of Missionary Disciples, Discipleship, Evangelisation, New Evangelisation, Catechesis, Accompaniment, and Synodality. There was a time when “Catholic” seemed to be the only word.
"It is of course easy to get lost in it all or to be cynical about terminology but such words speak a truth to us about the times we live in and the needs we are confronting.
"This changing landscape is not a change in our identity so much as it is a change in our relationship with society.
"Let us gather at The Gillis Centre to try to make sense of all this with good grace and humour as we recognise that the people we are ministering to have changed significantly, and so have we."
To register for this event, clergy are asked to email ann-margaret.clark@staned.org.uk so we can arrange for catering.
