Caritas, Justice & Peace Mass
Our annual Mass, hosted by the Caritas, Justice & Peace Commission takes place at St Margaret's Church, Dunfermline at 7:00pm on Wednesday 2 April.
The principal celebrant will be Canon Brian Gowans, who is the Vicar Episcopal for Caritas, Justice & Peace in the Archdiocese.
We welcome Fr Tom Magill, of Motherwell Diocese, who will preach.
There will be light refreshments after Mass. All welcome.
About the The Caritas, Justice and Peace Commission
The Caritas, Justice and Peace Commission of the Archdiocese consists of several lay volunteers under the direction of the Vicar Episcopal Canon Brian Gowans. The commission meets around five times a year online or in person and includes representatives of various Catholic organisations such as Stella Maris, Pax Christi Scotland, The Society of St Vincent de Paul (SSVP) as well as members active in their own parish Justice and Peace groups. The Archdiocesan commission is part of the National Justice and Peace Commission which is responsible to the Bishop’s Conference of Scotland.

A prayer service those who have suffered the loss of a child, from the beginning of pregnancy onwards, together with those who wish to come in love and support, to have time in quiet surroundings to fully recognise their loss and help with healing. Ecumenical and open to all.
This service may be helpful to anyone who feels that they have not had the opportunity to fully acknowledge and grieve for their loss.
It takes place on Sunday 2 March 2025 at 5.00pm in St John the Baptist RC Church, Corstorphine, 37, St Ninian’s Road, Edinburgh, EH12 8AL.
Mass for World Day for Consecrated Life
Join Religious brothers and sisters at St Mary’s Cathedral on Sunday 2 February to celebrate the World Day of Consecrated Life with midday Mass.
It is a chance to meet some of those who live and work in the Archdiocese and to pray for more vocations to the Religious Life.
February Mass in honour of Our Lady of Lourdes
The February Mass in honour of Our Lady of Lourdes will take place at 4:00pm on Sunday 2nd February 2025 in St Cuthbert’s Church, 104 Slateford Road, Edinburgh, EH14 1PT.
Archbishop Cushley will be the principal celebrant. There will be refreshments in the hall afterwards. All welcome!

The Rite of Election is the final stage for those being received into the Catholic Church at Easter.
The candidates and catechumens express their sincere and earnest desire to take full part in the Church's sacramental life, confirmed by their godparents and sponsors. Also present will be many of the catechists from across the Archdiocese who will have been teaching them the Catholic faith.
They will become Catholics at Easter Vigil Masses across the Archdiocese on Saturday 19 April. Please keep each of the candidates and catechumens in your prayers.
Mass: Opening of the Holy Year of Jubilee 2025
Pope Francis has declared 2025 to be a Holy Year of Jubilee for the Catholic Church, an event that takes place once every 25 years.
Archbishop Cushley will solemnly open the Jubilee Year 2025 for the Archdiocese with Holy Mass and the blessing of the Jubilee Cross at St Mary's Cathedral, Edinburgh, at midday on Sunday 29 December.
