The Margaret Sinclair Story

The inspiring true story of the cheerful Edinburgh factory girl with a big heart for Jesus and for helping others, who could be Scotland's next canonised Saint.

Stephen Callaghan's funny and moving play was first performed at the 2016 Fringe in the Edinburgh church where the venerable Margaret's body is interred and he directs the revival marking 100 years since her death.

"The response of the audience lining the pews… is undeniable' (Scotsman)"

Peace vigil against nuclear weapons

A Christian peace vigil in opposition to nuclear weapons takes place at the South Gate of HM Naval Base Clyde at 10:30am on Saturday 2 August.

It is an ecumenical service of prayer, reflection, readings, and hymns is organised by Justice & Peace Scotland.

The vigil will be led by Most Rev William Nolan, Archbishop of Glasgow and President of Justice & Peace Scotland; Right Rev Rosie Frew, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland; and Most Rev Mark Strange, Primus of the Scottish Episcopal Church.

Free transport

Anne-Marie Clements of J&P Scotland said: "We are keen to have a large and visible gathering at this year’s vigil to mark 80 years since the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

"To make it easier for people to attend, free transport is being provided from Edinburgh and Glasgow by Justice & Peace Scotland and the Church of Scotland."

To book your free seat, please email: office@justiceandpeacescotland.org.uk

Include the following details:

She added: "As Christians, we are called to be peacemakers and to uphold the dignity of every human life. Nuclear weapons are fundamentally incompatible with this call as their existence threatens indiscriminate destruction and a future built on fear and power-wielding rather than on fraternity amongst nations.

"We hope you’ll join us for this important and hopeful act of Christian witness. If you've never come along to one of our peace vigils before, why not make this your first one?"
