Would you like to start a youth group in your parish but are not sure how to go about it? Well, the Archdiocese of St Andrews & Edinburgh will be hosting an information and training day on Saturday 9 February in Edinburgh to help you to do just that. All are very welcome.
“We’ll be answering all the questions that people may have about parish youth groups,” said Father Daniel Doherty, Vicar Episcopal for Catechetics, 16 January.
“Questions such as: Why have a youth group? How do you start one? What sort of things should they be doing? What works and what doesn’t work? What are the practicalities involved, including safeguarding issues? It should be a very worthwhile, very enjoyable day.”
The training and information day will be held at the Gillis Centre in Edinburgh. It will begin at 11am with registration. Presentations will then follow from experienced parish youth leaders. The day will conclude at 3pm. Attendees should bring a packed lunch. All training information will be available to take home in both electronic and printed form.
