Catholic App continues to increase coverage

The Catholic App continues to grow its coverage and now covers all Churches in Scotland.

It is a great way to find Mass in your area - and parishes are being reminded that they can control of the information on it.

They can quickly update their details on Mass and Confession times through the Catholic App web platform.

It means App users can automatically see the updates on the 'Near Me Now' function, which gives a comprehensive selection of Mass and Confession times wherever you are.

Maciej Zurawski of developers Musemantik said: "The Catholic App now covers 100% of the churches in Scotland and is the most reliable central source in the world about the daily activity of Catholic Mass and confessions. Also, the new Android version is super-fast!"

You can download the app for Android here  or iPhone here  and any church can be added to the app for free using the website https://thecatholicapp.com/

Catholic App crammed with new features following updates

The Catholic App is now more comprehensive than ever and crammed full of features following updates by Edinburgh tech firm Musemantik.

It now works in German, Italian, Portuguese, French, Spanish and Polish and includes a news section, which parishes themselves can contribute to.

The Catholic App is an interactive, GPS-powered, Holy Mass and Confession finder app and now includes daily scripture readings and professionally rendered pictures of each parish in the Archdiocese.

Dr Maciej Zurawski, of Musemantik, said: "We are delighted to announce that the Catholic App news component is now live both on iPhone and Android. The app now also has daily bible readings for Scotland.

"It includes parish news channels used to distribute local news, with support for PDF news items, including zooming for improved readability, and support for links."

He added: "The next goal for the Catholic App platform is to add mobile donation collection, where the donations are for specific diocese or parish projects. For dioceses in the UK, the app would also collect Gift Aid data, which increases the Government's charitable contribution."

The company also provides the app for Motherwell Diocese and hope to expand it to other dioceses across the UK.

If your parish wants would like a news channel in the Catholic App, email appdata@musemantik.com, with the name of the church (or main church of the cluster), the proposed news channel name and the name of the news author. Musemantik will then contact you with simple instructions on what to do next.
