VACANCY: Administrator (support team)

The Archdiocese of St Andrews & Edinburgh is seeking to appoint an Administrator.

The role involves providing support to the Property Director and general administrative support within the Archdiocesan offices in Edinburgh.

The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, good attention to detail and efficient IT skills, especially in Excel.

They will be proactive, flexible and have the ability to prioritise and organise their work, while also supporting other team members as required. Experience or a qualification in Health and Safety would be beneficial.

Main purpose and scope of role
To work as part of the Curia Support team with a focus on supporting the Property Director. Main areas of work are Insurance, Health and Safety and generic administrative work for the Curia.

Listed Places of Worship Grant Scheme (Topmark)
(20% grants for invoices for maintenance and repairs on listed churches.)

Salary

£45,000- £50,000, depending on experience

The Role

The RE Primary Adviser provides support, advice and development opportunities for staff within Catholic schools to enhance the delivery and quality of Religious Education across the Archdiocese of St Andrews & Edinburgh. The postholder is responsible for curriculum development of Religious Education in Catholic Schools and for developing and facilitating regular CLPL opportunities. The postholder also contributes to national and Diocesan developments in co-operation with the Scottish Catholic Education Service (SCES).

Applicants

You must be a qualified and experienced primary school teacher holding a Catholic Teacher’s Certificate.  You must also have an excellent working knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence in RERC and a proven track record in developing curriculum resources. You must be able to develop and provide CPD opportunities and website resources, be an effective team player who can work in schools and at national level and also be committed to working within and supporting the values and ideals of the Archdiocese.

Location

The role is based at the Gillis Centre, 100 Strathearn Road, Edinburgh EH9 1BB and may require some travel. Hybrid working will be considered.

Job Vacancy: Diocesan Safeguarding Officer

The Archdiocese of St Andrews & Edinburgh is seeking to appoint a Diocesan Safeguarding Officer to assist the Safeguarding Adviser in providing a professional safeguarding service to and on behalf of the Archdiocese.

Salary: £25-£30k pro rata, dependent on experience. Hours: 21 hours per week (three days).

You should have relevant experience of delivering safeguarding services, including face-to-face and online training; be confident in using IT systems and be well organised, flexible and self-motivated.  You will have good communication skills and be confident in working with volunteers.

Vacancy: safeguarding administrator (part-time)

We have a vacancy available for a Safeguarding Administrator, based at our offices in the Gillis Centre, Strathearn Road, Edinburgh.

The successful applicant will work closely with our safeguarding team, priests and parishes to accurately manage safeguarding procedures, process PVG forms and respond to queries from our parishes.

You post requires someone who is competent and skilled with administrative duties and database management. You will have xcellent interpersonal and communication skills, be flexible, and understand the need for confidentiality. The salary is £20,600 FTE (£8,240 for 14 hours per week).

You must be a qualified secondary school teacher holding a Catholic Teacher’s Certificate with at least five years’ experience and educated to degree/masters level.

You will have an excellent working knowledge of Curriculum for Excellence in RERC and a proven track record in developing curriculum resources. You must be able to develop and provide CLPL opportunities and website resources, be an effective team player who can work in schools and at national level and also be committed to working within and supporting the values and ideals of the Archdiocese.
