New Dawn in Scotland is a charismatic movement of the Church, part of a "worldwide association of people who desire to display the Catholic church in all Her splendour. It is Eucharistic-centred, Sacramental, Marian and Spirit-filled".
The virtual conference takes place from Friday 28 to Sunday 30 August with speakers including Bishop John Keenan and Dr Ralph Martin, professor of Theology at the Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit. The programme includes Holy Mass, Rosary, testimonies, teaching, healing sessions and lots more. There are talks on The Holy Spirit, Reconciliation, Healing, Mary Our Mother and Evangelisation.
Fr Nicholas, a priest of the Institute of the Incarnate Word (IVE), has spoken at previous New Dawn Conferences, which are usually held in St Andrews. He added: "I’ve enjoyed praise and worship and taking part. Though I’m not a charismatic, it’s had a positive effect on me. They are impressive people, people of faith.
"Having studied the theological virtue of hope I wanted to share the fruit of my studies. I’ll try to present the things that can help hope and those which are detrimental to it. Those which are detrimental to it include desperation, and as Catholics it is our job to offer consolation to those who are feeling down and desperate."
Fr Nicholas gives his talk on the theological virtue of hope on Sunday at 12pm. Find out more about his vocation journey here. There is no need to register for the conference, simply watch it on The New Dawn Scotland YouTube channel. Full details are on the New Dawn in Scotland website.
