Parishioners across the Archdiocese can battle a University Challenge champion this month – and help support a good cause.
Robbie Campbell Hewson was part of the Edinburgh University team that won the famous BBC programme this year, defeating St Edmund Hall, Oxford.
He’s now taking part in a quiz night at St Mary’s Star of the Sea Church in Constitution Street, Edinburgh, on 26th September.
Throwback to when our very own Mr Fitz-James, Matt Booth, Marco Malusa and Robbie Campbell Hewson WON #UniversityChallenge ?

Robbie, a parishioner at Sacred Heart Church in Lauriston, said: “I’ll be putting a team together for the night. I welcome people to come along, enjoy some friendly competition and help raise funds for a good cause.”
Money raised will go towards supporting Soulserve an Edinburgh-based Catholic initiative providing meals and support for people struggling with or recovering from addictions.
Soulserve will take place on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm in the Ogilvie Room at Sacred Heart Church, Lauriston Street, Edinburgh, and begins on 3 December.
Organiser Andrew Cassidy said: “By sharing a meal, hearing personal testimony from someone in recovery from addiction and by offering a simple prayer service we seek to be a haven and a resource to help those on the path to healing.”
Robbie, who graduated with a maths degree from Edinburgh University this year, still takes part in quiz nights in the city with his university team.
So does he trounce the opposition?
“We normally do quite well, but it depends on the quiz. We’re very bad at music rounds!”
