SUMMARY:Lecture: Albert the Great on Becoming Fully Human
DESCRIPTION:The Albertus Institute\, in partnership with the School of Divinity at the University of Edinburgh\, presents its annual lecture with Dr Tracy Wietecha of the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin. \nIn Albert the Great on Becoming Fully Human: Virtue\, Judgement\, and Perfection\, Dr Wietecha will explore what it means to become fully human in the age of AI through the theology of St Albert the Great. \nShe will consider Albert’s belief that we have a duty to develop ourselves intellectually and morally\, asking how we learn to desire rightly\, act well and make good judgements amid the changing circumstances of life. \nThe lecture takes place on Friday 11 September 2026\, from 4:10pm to 7:00pm\, at Martin Hall\, New College\, Edinburgh EH1 2LX. \nThe lecture itself is free and unticketed.
