Thanks to all the catechists who attended out SPRED retreat on Saturday.
SPRED (Special Religious Development) is a parish-based programme supporting children and adults with learning disabilities to grow in faith and participate in the life of the Church.
Father Basil Clark of (Our Lady of Loretto & St Michael’s, Musselburgh) gave two talks and celebrated Mass, concelebrated by Fr Daniel Magaji (St Peter’s, Edinburgh).

There are SPRED groups in Bannockburn, Livingston, Falkirk, Dalkeith, and George Square in Edinburgh.
Sr Mary Benedicta Maier RSM, SPRED Co-ordinator, said: “It was a beautiful day and a joy to be joined by many of our newly trained catechists at The Gillis Centre. All groups were represented, including our new children’s group in Edinburgh.
It was Our Lady’s Feast day, so we prayed the Rosary at the Grotto and Catechists enjoyed picking some fresh fruit in the grounds!”
