Congratulations to Canon John Agnew who is celebrating the 65th anniversary of his priestly ordination.

Canon Agnew (87) was ordained at St Mary’s Cathedral, Edinburgh, in 1961 and began his ministry at St Agatha’s in Methil.

He became a missionary priest for the Archdiocese in Bauchi, Nigeria, and was there from 1966-76.

When he returned to Scotland he served in Hawick, Inverkeithing, Bonnybridge and Fauldhouse, before retiring in 2009.

He is pictured centre with fellow clergy at a recent Mass of Thanksgiving at Ss John Cantius & Nicholas Broxburn.
