Following a period of prayer and reflection, Fr Jamie Boyle will take a leave of absence in order to devote time to further discernment and spiritual renewal.
He will complete his ministry at St Mary’s, Stirling, at the end of the year.
Archbishop Cushley said: “I am grateful for Fr Jamie’s faithful service, and I fully support his desire to step back temporarily from active ministry for this purpose.
“I invite you to keep him in your prayers during this time of quiet discernment.”
- Fr Robert Taylor, currently assistant priest at St Mary’s Cathedral, Edinburgh, will move to St Mary’s, Stirling, as Administrator. He will remain as Chancellor and MC of the Archdiocese.
- Fr Joshua Moir, presently assistant priest at St Patrick’s, Kilsyth, will serve as assistant priest at St Mary’s Cathedral, Edinburgh.
All appointments take effect from 1 January 2026.
