About the The Caritas, Justice and Peace Commission
The Caritas, Justice and Peace Commission of the Archdiocese consists of several lay volunteers under the direction of the Vicar Episcopal Canon Brian Gowans. The commission meets around five times a year online or in person and includes representatives of various Catholic organisations such as Stella Maris, Pax Christi Scotland, The Society of St Vincent de Paul (SSVP) as well as members active in their own parish Justice and Peace groups. The Archdiocesan commission is part of the National Justice and Peace Commission which is responsible to the Bishop’s Conference of Scotland.
