The Rite of Election is for adults preparing for baptism or reception into full communion with the Catholic Church,  celebrated by the Bishop who chooses them, elects them, in the name of the Lord and of the local Church to which they belong. It is a final stage before thy join the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil Mass.

This Mass takes place during the 12noon Mass at St Mary’s Cathedral, Edinburgh, on the first Sunday of Lent (Sunday 6 March). All are welcome.
