Congratulations to Rose Hardie who received the Archdiocesan Medal this morning during Mass at St Andrew’s Church in Livingston.

The award recognises her commitment to Catholic education and the Church over many years.

Rose is deputy head at Howden St Andrew’s Primary, which she attended as a pupil, and she is a lifelong parishioner at St Andrew’s. Rose has spent her vocation as a teacher nurturing pupils’ faith and ensuring that Jesus is central to the daily life of the school.

Rose was joined at the Mass of Thanksgiving by family, friends, staff, and current & former pupils (see above image).

The Prinicipal Celebrant at the Mass was Archbishop Leo Cushley, who was joined by Fr Paul Lee and Fr Emmanuel Francis (below).

Fr Paul Lee said: “The award is a worthy testimony, reflecting a life of commitment to the Catholic primary school community in West Lothian.”

The Archdiocesan Medal for Outstanding Service to the Church was established in 1975 by Cardinal Gordon Joseph Gray. It is awarded for outstanding service to the Church.
