Parishioners across the Archdiocese have helped raise £31,500 for the Mercy Centre in Edinburgh.
The money was donated in a special collection in parishes, as well as online, for Word Day for the Poor in November 2025.
The centre is run by the Sisters of Mercy at St Catharine’s Convent in Lauriston Street and provides food, clothing and support for those in need in the city.
Sr Aelred Timmins said: “Homeless people come here every day for food, sometimes for sleeping bags, most of all for friendship and a listening ear.
“Thanks to all those in the Archdiocese for their generosity, which will help so many people. God bless you all.”
