Here's our update for events happening in the Archdiocese and online in April.

Caritas, Justice & Peace Mass - Wednesday 2 April
Our annual Mass, hosted by the Caritas, Justice & Peace Commission, takes place at St Margaret's Church, Dunfermline at 7:00pm. We welcome Fr Tom Magill of Motherwell Diocese who will preach. Refreshments after Mass.

Laudato Si' meeting - Thursday 3 April
To mark the 10th anniversary of the Holy Father's encyclical Laudato Si', a Zoom meeting will be held at 7:00pm to share plans for the year. Organised by the Care of Creation Office of the Bishops' Conference of Scotland and the Laudato Si Movement. Register here.

The Assisted Dying Bill: An Alliance of Concern - Friday 4 April
A meeting on the Assisted Dying Bill to highlight concerns and action required will take place at Ss Ninian & Triduna Church, 232 Marionville Road, Edinburgh, EH7 6BE. Organised by the Alliance of Concern. Register here.

Edinburgh Seven Hills Pilgrimage - Saturday 5 April
The perfect opportunity to offer Lenten penance, pray for the city of Edinburgh and conclude with worship at the 6:00pm Vigil Mass at St Mary’s Cathedral. Starts at 10:00am at St Mary’s Cathedral. Register here.

Soprano Recital - Sunday 6 April
Soprano Emily Zehetmayr will perform a solo recital at St Mary’s Cathedral, Edinburgh, at 1:30pm. Entry is free with optional retiring donation for the Schola Cantorum’s trip to Rome for the Diaconate ordinations.

Ukraine Art Exhibition - until 6 April
A charity art exhibition of icons hand-painted onto ammunition boxes is on display at St Mary's Cathedral in Edinburgh until Sunday 6 April. Read more here.

Stations of the Cross - Monday 7 April
Join Catholics from across Scotland praying for the unborn, their mothers and all pro-life intentions. Concludes with a reflection from Sr Andrea Fraile, from the Sisters of the Gospel of Life, Glasgow. Register here.

Young Adults' Talk: Archbishop Cushley - Tuesday 8 April
Archbishop Leo Cushley will discuss Phillipians 2: 6-11 at the Young Adults talk at St Mary’s Cathedral (63 York Place) at 7:00pm on Tuesday 8 April. No registration required. Further info: frrobert.taylor@staned.org.uk

Youth Day - Saturday 12 April
A day of games and inspiring talks at The Gillis Centre, 100 Strathearn Road, Edinburgh, EH9 1BB, from 11am-3pm. Includes sessions for primary school pupils (8+) and sessions for high school pupils. Register here. If you have any queries email youth.office@staned.org.uk 

Young Adults Event - Saturday 12 April
Young adults can prepare for Holy Week and Easter at St Margaret's Chapel at The Gillis Centre, 100 Strathearn Road, Edinburgh, EH9 1BB from 11:30am-3:00pm. There will be talks from speakers including Fr David Stewart SJ. Event concludes with Mass celebrated by Archbishop Cushley. Register by emailing  frrobert.taylor@staned.org.uk

Funeral of Sr Mary Rose Moran - Monday 14 April
Please pray for the repose of the soul of Sr Mary Rose Moran RSM of the Sisters of Mercy at St Catharine’s Convent, Edinburgh, who died peacefully on Saturday 22 March. She was 93. Her Requiem Mass is on Monday 14 April at St Catharine's Convent, 4 Lauriston Gardens, Edinburgh, EH3 9HH.

Pergolesi Stabat Mater - Monday 14 April
A performance of Pergolesi Stabat Mater by Genevieve Evans and Emma Hocking. Free entry with optional retiring donation. Funds raised go to the choir's trip to Rome to sing at the Diaconate ordinations in May.

Chrism Mass - Tuesday 15 April
The Chrism Mass is when the holy oils are blessed and the Sacred Chrism is consecrated. It is celebrated on Tuesday of Holy Week at 7:00pm in St Mary's Cathedral, Edinburgh, with Archbishop Cushley. Clergy will join him to renew their priestly vows.

Good Friday Liturgy - 18 April
Archbishop Cushley will lead the liturgy for Good Friday at St Mary's Cathedral, Edinburgh, at 3:00pm.

Easter Sunday - 20 April
Archbishop Cushley will be the principal celebrant for the midday Mass at St Mary's Cathedral.

Pro-Life Rosary - Saturday 26 April
This prayerful event marks the anniversary of the implementation of the Abortion Act in April, 1968. It takes place at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Lauriston Street, Edinburgh, EH3 9DJ.

Holy Year Talk - Sunday 27 April
A series of Holy Year talks take place on the last Sunday of each month at 4:30pm at the Carmelite Convent, Hot Pot Wynd, Dysart, KY1 2TF. The one-hour event includes evening prayer, Eucharistic Adoration and has been organised by the Fife Deanery. Fr Paul Lee will talk about 'The Risen Christ' All welcome.

Schola Cantorum concert - Wednesday 30 April
A fundraising concert at St Mary's Cathedral at 7:30pm. £10 on the door. Funds raised go to the choir's trip to Rome to sing at the Diaconate ordinations in May.
