Lay Ministers in the Archdiocese went on pilgrimage to the historic city of Dunfermline this week.
The event was led by Sr Mary Benedicta RSM, Lay Co-ordinator for the Archdiocese.
The group visited St Margaret Memorial Church in the city’s East Port for Holy Mass and prayed at her relic (above) and then prayed the Litany of St Margaret at the shrine (her former tomb) at Dunfermline Abbey.
Sr Mary Benedicta said: “We had some lovely conversations with people all throughout the pilgrimage.
“The lay ministers grew in collegiality and friendship, sharing ideas about their schools, their faith, and building a community together in their special ministry at our Catholic secondary schools.”
Lay Ministers help spread the good news of Jesus Christ at high schools in the Archdiocese. The volunteers work with school chaplains to support the faith journey of students and staff.

The Archdiocese is looking for Lay Ministers for the following schools: St Mungo’s, Falkirk; Holy Rood, Edinburgh; St Augustine’s, Edinburgh. To find out more about the role and requirements visit here.
