Archbishop Cushley highlighted the ‘generosity of spirit’ of pilgrims at a joy-filled Mass in The Basilica of Saint Pius X in Lourdes.
More than 3,000 people gathered for Mass as part of the annual life-changing pilgrimage organised by Hosanna House and Children’s Pilgrimage Trust (HCPT).

He said: “There is a generosity of spirit… not just an abundance, but a super abundance of grace and goodness and love. We have a lot to be grateful for.”
He also highlighted the theme of God’s generosity, a message that resonates deeply with the HCPT experience in Lourdes.

HCPT is a UK-based charity supporting children, young people and adults, particularly those with varying needs, to experience a pilgrimage.
The annual pilgrimage is one of the largest Catholic pilgrimages of its kind from the UK.

The Mass marked the celebration on of HCPTs 70th anniversary year, reflecting on seven decades of service, belonging and life-changing experiences rooted in the message of Lourdes.
Joining the pilgrimage were Scottish Bishops Frank Dougan (Galloway) and Joe Toal (Motherwell).
Fr Kevin Dow, a priest of our Archdiocese, was also there, along with clergy and groups from across Scotland and the UK.
