The Season of Creation begins on Wednesday 1 September and we're sharing all the resources you need!
What is the Season of Creation?
The Season of Creation is the annual Christian celebration of prayer and action for our common home. It starts on Wednesday 1 September, the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, and ends on 4 October, the Feast of St Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of ecology. Pope Francis states that the Season of Creation is a “season of increased prayer and effort on behalf of our common home.”

Letter from the Vatican
Monsignor Bruno Marie-Duffe, secretary for the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, wrote this letter in May 2021 about the Season of Creation.
In our Archdiocese
Each year we gather for the annual Justice and Peace Mass in our Archdiocese. As we do so at the beginning of the Season of Creation, we will especially be praying for the success of COP26.
The Mass takes place at St Columba's in Upper Gray Street, Edinburgh at 7:30pm on Monday 6 September. Please register here.
