Catholics are being asked to choose life and help the unborn this weekend (06/07 June) by supporting the work of the Archdiocesan Pro-Life Office.
A 'Day for Life' special collection would normally take place at Masses across Scotland around this time each year to help fund pro-life work across the country. So with churches closed, people are instead being asked to make a donation, if they can, at our online giving page.
Paul Atkin, who runs our pro-life initiative said: "During the coronavirus crisis, calls from expectant mothers are still being received so your donations will be used by our team of volunteers to help them.
"The Day for Life collection is the main source of funds for the office. The funds are very much needed – for example, just recently I had a call about a woman in the Archdiocese who will probably need financial support with her pregnancy. So I want to thank people for their support at this time."
The Day for Life theme this year is Choose Life and comes ahead of the March for Life UK's Lifestream event on Saturday 13 June.
You can donate online here. Alternatively, cheques can be sent to Pro-Life Office, Archdiocesan Offices, 100 Strathearn Road, Edinburgh, EH9 1BB (please make cheques payable to 'Archdiocese of St Andrews & Edinburgh').
